Today, tuesday, a decent thermal breeze developed around midday offering moderate sailing conditions on all regatta courses at Kiel Woche.

Most competitors sailed three races today, except the Star and Finn who only managed two. However, the Kieler Woche race committee is content to finish the Olympic Classes part of the week with Medal Races in front of the Schilksee Center tomorrow.
Mark Stubbings, Chief Executive of the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (GBR) observed the racing on the water today and gained experience for the organisation of the Weymouth Olympic Regatta in 2012. He was impressed by the numerous race courses and the race committees of Kieler Woche – volunteers from six German sailing clubs – involved effectively on each course. He informed the media about the preparations in Weymouth for 2012 e.g. accommodation of competitors on moored passenger liners, a newly built media center, five race courses around Weymouth Bay, and own medal presentation in Weymouth.

Schmitter (NED) leads the 2.4mR class, followed by Kröger (GER) in second and Andersen (DEN) in third. In the Finn Class Vincec (SLO) scored six points with one discard, followed by Nossiter (AUS) with ten points, and Gaspic (CRO) on 18 points in third.

Two German teams dominate the Tornado fleet, Polgar and Spalteholz appear to have won the Kieler Woche title, closely followed by Gäbler and Struckmann in second and Zajac and Czajka (AUT) in third overall.

The top three in the Star Class represent three nations: First are Pickel and Borkowski (GER) followed by Spitzauer and Nehammer (AUT) in second and Merriman and Peters (USA) rounding out the top three in third.

The women's 470 fleet finished seven races with one discard. Vogl and Flatscher (AUT) are leading the field with Rechichi and Parkinson (AUS) in second and Kondo and Kamata (JPN) in third.

Fantela and Marenic (CRO) lead the men's 470 fleet, followed by Zellmer and Seelig (GER) in second while Belcher and Behrens (AUS) round out the podium in third.

The Croatian team of Kostov and Cupac lead the 49er fleet followed by Bauer and Baumann (GER). The Nielsen brothers (DEN) are in third after seven races with one discard.

Winner of the Laser Gold fleet is Blackburn (AUS) closely folowed by Porozynski (POL) in second and Zbogar (SLO) in third

New Zealander, Aleh scored her best race (after seven races) in the Laser Radial fleet, followed by Weir (AUS) in second and Steyaert (FRA) in third.

Both board fleets sailed three additional races: Men's RS:X winner may be Wojcik (POL) on six points, followed by Frenchman le Coq in second and Nowicki (POL) in third. Brygota (POL) leads the women's fleet, with two Germans – Delle Stadler in second and third position.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is for a light to moderate easterly thermal breeze with Medal Races on the final day for the Olympic Classes of Kieler Woche 2007.
