Youngsters selected

A number of sailors have been selected to join the Musto Academy of Excellence

Following the announcement at the RYA Dinghy Show of the Musto Academy of Excellence, the first five young sailors to be selected were announced at the conclusion to the 2007 RYA National Youth Championships and Trials at the Hayling Island Sailing Club on 14 April.

After a hard winter’s training and a sun-kissed, light weather series of races in Hayling Bay, Simon Payne (Marketing Director, Musto Ltd) and Simon Wergan (RYA Youth Racing Manager) announced the following winners, who will receive full sets of technical clothing to wear on the water and shoreside clothing to equip them appropriately for venues from northern European to Mediterranean waters:

29er Women: Sophie Weguelin and Sophie Ainsworth (2nd)

420 Class: Peter Irwin and David Kohler (1st)

Laser Standard: Eifion Mon (7th)
