Second Boat Show GP

Both 49ers and 29ers will be racing at the Henri Lloyd 9er London Boat Show Grand Prix this year

If you happen to be visiting the Collins Stewart London Boat Show this Saturday you may weel be in for a treat as the first Henri Lloyd 9er London Boat Show Grand Prix is due to take place.

On Saturday the 13 Jan a fleet of 49ers will be racing for the second year on the dock outside the London Boat Show. This year they will be joined by the 29ers. Racing starts at 12:00 with the prize giving at 17:00 in the central hall. Each small fleet (could not have too many for obvious reasons!) will do three races back to back. There will be no discard so it is all to count.

At the moment the weather is looking good for the event with 15 knots predicted, which should make racing rather more spectacular than the slightly dissapointing light conditions last year.

While you're watching the racing you will be able to take a moment to see both the 29er and 49er on the quay side. The boats will only be there this weekend so make sure you take the opportunity to speak to the sailors manning the stand.
