Impressive lead for Stenhouse

At the top of the Junior World Championship of the 470 class the tension gets tighter. After seven races the Croation team Sime/Marenic is still tied with Eyal/Yam from Israel. Both crews added a first to their brilliant series and score eight points now.
But the discard of the Israeli team is higher, that is the reason why Sime/Marenic lead the ranking momentarily. But the German teams are moving closer to the top as well.
Christopher Lorenz and Friedrich Gebert had a good training with the Croatians just
before the Worlds and they scored a second place in the only race of the day. The good results catapulted them on rank seven overall now. “We had a nice run and plan to continue like this in the next days”, said Lorenz. The 121 starters in the Junior Worlds sail in three groups. On Sunday the top ten crews will start for a thrilling medal race near the shore of Travemuende – perfect to watch for the public. The final race (a new format for Olympic classes) includes the best ten teams, counts double points, and
cannot be discarded.
After two days in the Musto Skiff Gold Cup, the British dominance of the title holder Richard Stenhouse is impressive. Only once he saw the stern of his compatriot Ian Trotter. All other races he could win, which gives him a big lead of ten points, followed by Trotter.
