On Monday entries for the GUL RS200 Nationals at Exe SC passed 100 boats. With 25 days to the start of racing the final numbers look like they will be well past the previous record of 103 for the 2005 RS200 National Championships, set at Highcliffe.
The RS200 racing scene is currently very active with a fleet of 55 boats competing this week in the Fat Face Eurocup in Riva on Lake Garda. There are also 55 RS800's in Garda too. A record RS800 fleet outside of the Nationals, the first time any RS European event has attracted a single fleet of over 50 boats.
With additional fleets of 32 RS700's, 27 RS400's and 10 RS600's Garda this year is the largest ever RS Eurocup.
With the first ever RS Feva World Championships taking place this week a few miles down Lake Garda from Riva it is a very busy time in Italy for the RS boats.
On top of the 55 RS200's in Garda there are another 32 RS200's racing at Abersoch Dinghy Week, the second largest fleet there. The largest fleet is RS400's with 35. And to cap it all the RS400 fleet at Garda is the largest that has taken part in an RS400 Eurocup
