Even after six days of hard racing at the Youth Nationals, six days later a good fleet of 29ers turned up at Draycote for a series of six races over the weekend. They were greeted with a shifty five knots of breeze on the Saturday but the race team got the fleet underway quickly.

Phil Walker and Matt Gotrel won the first race leading most of the way despite being late for the start. Hannah Tattersall and Sophie Porteous filled second while Nick Reading and Adam Hilton took the third spot.

For the second race Phil and Matt won again with the Seddon twins chasing much of the way before falling behind. Oscar Mcveigh and John Mather took second spot with Adam Parry and Will Croxford coming in third.

The final race of the day got underway in a bit more of a stable breeze and Sam Collingwood and Matt Wheaton led all the way round followed by Oscar and John and Matt Undrell and Richard Crocker.

After day one it was Phil and Matt leading overall, with Oscar and John in second and Matt and Rich in third.

The sailors turned up for the second day with a more promising breeze that stayed throughout the day.

Phil and Matt managed to secure a win again in race four with Oscar and John coming second and with Matt and Rich in third.

Race five followed a similar pattern but with Oscar and John piping Phil and Matt for the win and with Matt and Rich filling in the third spot.

The final race saw Matt and Rich securing the bullet closely followed by Phil and Matt and Oscar and John.

Results:

1-Phil Walker and Matt Gotrel
2-Oscar McVeigh and John Mather
3-Matt Undrill and Rich Crocker
4-Hannah Tattersall and Sophie Porteous
5-Sam Collingwood and Matt Croxford
