RS 200s at Abersoch
Thursday April 28th 2005, Author: Class Association, Location: United Kingdom
The Fat Face RS200 circuit heads to North Wales this Bank Holiday weekend for the third event of the series. Abersoch is a great venue for this event, shared with the RS400s, hosted by the very experienced South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club. With turnouts of between 40 and 50 boats so far this season, a large fleet is expected to enjoy close racing ... and a great party. Abersoch offers much for the non-sailors also travelling, including a grandstand view of the racing from the clubhouse, and a very family-friendly beach.
Six races are scheduled over Saturday and Sunday. The first start on Saturday is scheduled for 1300hrs to allow plenty of time to travel. A 1100hrs start on Sunday should allow time to recover from Saturday night!
In a significant change for 2005, the prize structure for RS200 events makes Fat Face prize vouchers available across the fleet. Teams have been ranked and allocated to gold, silver and bronze divisions, with prizes awarded to the top three boats in each division at each event. Another popular initiative continues from previous years, where a top helm/crew provide a debrief on Saturday's racing in the clubhouse after sailing.
Full details of the event can be found on the RS Association and SCYC websites - follow the links below. Come and join us in Abersoch for a great Bank Holiday weekend event!
