Holt Tide Ride entry deadline approaches

The Holt Tide Ride 2005 is to be held at Hayling Island Sailing Club on 8th and 9th October 2005. Entries are limited to 40 per class and the deadline of 24th September is fast approaching.

The date for the event are chosen especially to coincide with sluicing spring tides which create tidal streams and eddies that can catch out even the best Olympic dinghy sailors and make for challenging and exciting racing. Racing is for B14, I14, RS 800, 29er, RS 700 and Musto Skiff classes.

The Holt Tide Ride is equally famous for it’s Saturday night festivities. Music, liquid refreshment and sailors partying to celebrate (or forget) their racing exploits of the day!

The event also offers great spectator sport for onlookers – watching from the great vantage point of the HISC balcony. Dinghy racers have the added pressure of baying and cheering from the crowd who will applaud and cheer if you capsize!!
