Dave Ovington memorial race

Ovington Boats have announced a memorial race to be sailed in November at Grafham

Ovington Boats have announced that they will be holding an event at Grafham on the fifth November in memmory of Dave Ovington. The event is scheduled to take place on the Saturday of the traditional last Ovington event (9ers, B14s and MPS) of the year.

The format will be two races on two tracks just like the Grafham Grand Prix and just like the GP it has to be pre-entry with a limit of 200 boats. It is open to all classes - not just Ovi built boats. Prizes will be awarded to fleets of more than ten boats with an overall first place based on the two races.

The Ovi open will still take place over the weekend with the results of each of the four classes taken from Saturdays racing within their respective fleets.

There will be a social event in the evening after the prize giving.
