Cobbs Quay Marina

sponsor Flyning Fifteen National Chmpionship

Sunday July 24th 2005, Author: Maxine Craythorne, Location: United Kingdom
Based in Poole, Dorset, Cobbs Quay Marina, has recently announced its support for the Flying Fifteen National Championships. Cobbs Quay Marina are the title sponsors for the Championships, which will take place between 31st July and 5th August 2005 at the Parkstone Yacht Club, Poole.

Designed by the legendary Uffa Fox, the Flying Fifteen is a twenty foot long two handed keelboat, which is suited to a wide range of crew weights, and can easily be sailed by mixed crews. The Flying Fifteen has an astounding reputation as an exciting and competitive two-man racing craft and the championships are set to be one of the key events on the south coast this summer.

"We are delighted to be supporting this fantastic local event," says Andy Osman, Marina Manager at Cobbs Quay. "The Flying Fifteen is a great boat and the races are set to be very exciting. It is fantastic to be able to support the local fleet whilst welcoming competitors from all over the British Isles and Europe."

Parkstone Yacht Club has a strong record for hosting world and national championships, and visitors and competitors alike will no doubt be highly entertained during the races in Poole Bay. There are two championships which take place during the six day event, the Cobbs Quay Marina National Championships and the Cobbs Quay Marina Classic National Championships.

Cobbs Quay Marina, one of 18 locations owned and operated by MDL Marinas, is an impressive 850 berth marina and boatyard with first class facilities. These include a launderette, fuel services, dry stack storage, boat lifting, storage, brokerage, chandlery, a yacht club and marina shop.
