Thursday May 26th 2005, Author: Class Association, Location: United Kingdom
Conditions for the 11 boats competing in the ANEYC trophy varied from sunshine and F2-3 to driving rain and F5 gusts.
The first race saw a strong port bias on the start. Aardvark Issues was first to the windward mark followed by Not Another Aardvark and Wendy Windblows. Aardvark Issues pulled out a healthy lead from Not Another Aardvark, while the race for third place was closer with Wendy Windblows holding off Rebel.
In the second race Aardvark Issues led at the windward mark again from Rebel and Wendy Windblows. By the end of the second beat Wendy Windblows took the lead, and Aardvark Issues hit the mark, allowing Rebel through into second. Rebel missed the next mark to put Aardvark Issues back into second. On the next beat Aardvark Issues got past Wendy Windblows but then gybed badly and swam giving Wendy Windblows first place.
The final race started with three boats in contention for first place. At the end of a close first beat Aardvark Issues led from Not Another Aardvark and Wendy Windblows. These positions were held until Not Another Aardvark took another dip allowing Wendy Windblows and Rebel through into second and third place.
