Racing in Argentina, Germany and Italy ahead of Worlds at end of May

Big activity in the Soling class the last weekend, while in Germany at the Chiemsee Yacht Club the Omega Cup was held with a excellent fleet of sixteen boats and only a few races were sailed in Argentina the Horacio Petersen memorial regatta had a ten boat fleet and in Europe the CVCP season for the Solings started officialy.

The races in Argentina where used as final tests of Pasta Achuitta boat with Martin Busch / Maximo Feldtmann / Mariana Larumbe who were training for the Worlds and won in a tight competition where between second and fourth place had only one point of diference and the youg team Gonzalo Vertis, Ismael Ayerza, Bautista Lagos ARG 38 none older than 20 won the last race winning the tie over third place Matias Noceti / Guerrero / Rocha ARG 18 leaving the fourth place in the championship to Matias Collins / Andres Ezcurra / Fernando Morillo.

In Germany the Hungarian team T-Mobile HUN 77 Wossala / Kovasci / Nemeth had great season start winning the event. Second place the Master German Sailor Karl Haist / Irene haist and Edward Kostler from GER 308 who won the tie over the third place against GER 305 Thomas Maschkiwitz / Christoph Saurbier / Christoph Wossala.
The 2005 Soling Open Championship of Club Velico Castiglione della Pescaia began May 1st with a race entered by 5 boats that sailed an upwind-downwind course in a very light wind. Newcomers in the class Michele and Andrea Viti, with Luigi Seri at the bow, won the race with his ITA 258, a 1991 Borresen recently purchased from Austria. Second was Team Enopool ITA 201 with Umberto Valle-Andrea Maramai-Fabio Piccioni. Third was Energia Zero Team ITA 194 with Michele Tognozzi, Giuliano Carotti and Pierluca. Fourth was visitor team Lelit ITA 209 from Lake Garda with Armellini-Papini-Armellini. Fifth was ITA 255 Curini-Curatolo-Turi.

The CVCP is working hardly in these days to offer the best to the big fleet coming to Castiglione for the 2005 Soling World Championship, scheduled from 20 to 27 of May. CVCP has received 48 entries from 14 countries, that represents the biggest International Soling fleet for a Championship in the last 7 years. Entry requests are still arriving and will increase nextfurthercoming days.
