The Irish Sailing Association (ISA) is seeking a full-time Racing Manager to join its team of professionals.
The successful applicant will have responsibility, under the guidance of our Board, for strengthening and expanding competitive sailing in Ireland for the greater enjoyment of all concerned.
The Racing Manager will work closely with regional and national race organisers, Clubs and Classes to improve the links, raise the standards and grow participation in all aspects of sailing and windsurfing competition. The role will extend to all aspects of competitive activity including, Handicapping (ECHO and IRC), Fixtures, ISA Championships, Inter-Schools and Third Level Competition, Race Officials, and will also embrace High Performance aspects following the Athens Olympics.
The successful candidate will have been actively involved in racing or coaching at least at national level and should have an appreciation of the competitive environment within Ireland. He/she will have to demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and concisely by verbal and written means and be comfortable with Windows and Office applications. The position requires high levels of tact and diplomacy while achieving clearly directed central objectives and will entail a certain amount of travel, mostly within Ireland.
The position is competitively remunerated. There is no preferred age, however the job requires high levels of flexibility, energy and stamina.
