Ian Walker helming for brothers Louis and Max Kenna, has won the Etchells European Championship in St Tropez.
The regatta was scheduled over four days with 10 races. Light winds however caused the racing to be cancelled on the first two days with the St Tropez Yacht Club managing to get four races in on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Seventeen boats made up the fleet including entries from Australia and the USA, it was however to be a British 1,2,3 in the final standings. Despite all the efforts to get as many races on the board in the conditions, the final race that was completed on Sunday had to be thrown out. The Jury took this decision following confusion and protests as the course was moved for a changing wind direction.
In second place overall, four points behind Walker was Ante Razmilovic sailing with David Bedford and Simon Fry. Completing the podium was America’s Cup sailor Noel Drennan sailing with Jack McCarthy and Andrew Yates.
