George Vassilas with Evangelos Mitakiz continued their consistent form at the Liffey Developments 420 Junior European Championships on Dublin Bay today with two fourth places confirming their large lead ahead of Wednesday's split into Gold and Silver fleets.

Britain's Joanne MacDonald and Laurie Marsden have now moved into third place while full results to include race six will be known after the second flight of that race is sailed first in the morning.

Among the Irish crews competing, Simon Mitton and Cillian Magee were best in 25th place overall after five races and likely to qualify for the Gold fleet for the final three days of racing.

Yesterday saw more foggy conditions hamper racing with visibility reduced to less than 100 metres at times. The 79 boat fleet were at sea for eight hours and the final race had to abandoned for the second flight after the visibility posed a safety threat.

Arising from this, half the fleet will enjoy a morning off while the final series will not begin before 1500 hrs.
