No play for second day

Wind fails to materialise on day four of the Star Worlds

Thursday April 29th 2004, Author: Sasha Oswald, Location: United Kingdom
On the fourth day of the Audi Star class world championship, racing has had to be abandoned due to lack of wind.

After a postponement waiting for the wind to fill in, racing finally got underway at 16 00 in 5 knots of breeze. After three and a half hours, none of the 102 competitors had crossed the finish line and the race had to be abandoned as the boats were outside the time limit.

So far a total of two races have been sailed, and with six scheduled for the championship, and four needed to constitute a series, everyone is hoping that the wind will be on side for tomorrow to allow the championship to get underway again.
