RS600
Despite the forecast of light winds for the RS 600 Fat Face Circuit 10 boats arrived at Draycote. After a short delay the wind made an attempt to fill in and racing got underway.
In shifty conditions, Matt Humphries led round the windward mark, followed by Jamie Mawson. The places remained the same with Alex Knight pulling through to 3rd.
Race two saw Andy Heissig lead round the first mark, while Paul Molesworth attached himself to it! Humphries took the lead on the run and went on to win from Mawson and Heissig.
Sunday provided a more consistent force 2. Humphries led and was chased by Mawson and Knight. As Humphries crossed the line, Mawson and Knight continued to do another lap allowing Moleworth and Heissig to sneak through.
Race 4 saw the wind picking up slightly. Rob Jones led the fleet around the top mark. Heissig took the lead on the run and led Humphries and Mawson on the next beat, until gear failure caused him to retire. Humphries won, with Mawson second and Knight 3rd.
In race 5 Ali Wyatt went left up the first beat, while the rest of the fleet went right and reached the windward mark in 1st. Humphries then took the lead and won from Heissig and Mawson with Wyatt in 4th.
In the final race Humphries made a clean sweep by winning from Knight with Mawson in 3rd. Thanks goes to Fat Face, the club and the race team for some excellent racing.

RS800
Fat Face racing landed at Draycote for another round of RS800 competition, with conditions being quite the opposite to the last event, a smooth glassy calm.
Race one got away after a postponement with the fleet splitting. David Sayce/Chris Doe were looking good going right up the middle, hotly pursued by Alex Davies/Sarah Hughes. About three quarters of the way up the beat the wind decided to shift left leaving the two boats in the middle on the layline. Steve Irish /Martin Gotrel found a gust from nowhere and came in from the corner to just lead around the windward mark, stretching away down the run. Davies/Hughes just managed to sneak around ahead of Sayce/Doe with Adrian Coatsworth/Julia Jenkins catching up rapidly in fourth, the line-up that continued until the finish.
Race two, and a tricky beat saw Spod Olive/Jane Norris leading round the top mark, Matt Adams/John Date showed some great speed to right up in the chase for the lead. Showing some superb downwind speed through the fleet Irish/Gotrel gained the lead from Olive/Norris to take another win.
Sunday dawned with a gentle but steady and even breeze across the lake. Irish/Gotrel set off over the horizon in race three, the race for second was won by Sayce/Doe with Ronnie Millar and Phil Marshall in third.
Race four and five and similar scenarios, Irish taking more wins from Sayce. Race six and Ian Martin/Claire Booth found some good pressure down the last run to go from fourth to second, Davies/Hughes just holding out Sayce/Roe for third.
A master class of light wind RS800 sailing from Steve Irish and Martin Gotrel see them winning their home event and leading the Fat Face circuit, next stop Stokes Bay in May. Can anyone catch them?
