One point lead for local Gibbs brothers

It was a windy day – force 3 – 4 - leaving the harbour today to get to the race start in time.
At the start, however, the wind decreased to force 3. There was a recall on the first start – too many boats were over the line. This caused tension.
Five minutes later on the second start, the Gibbs brothers GBR 125 were away clear of other competitors. They led from the first mark. Closely followed by Klaus Eisenblatter GER 377 and four Dutch boats.
As the race progressed and the wind decreased more, three boats had a clear lead from the rest of the field – Gibbs GBR 125, Eisenblatter GER 377 and Versteeg NED 14.
They jostled for positions and Gibbs passed Versteeg a few hundred yards from the finish with strong sailing.
Versteeg was second only a few seconds before Eisenblatter.
Friday, the last race in the Championship will be the deciding factor as to who wins the European Championship as there is only one point between Gibbs GBR 125 and Verteeg NED 14.
Daan Verteeg NED 14.
