After a short delay waiting for the gradient wind to sort itself out with the sea breeze racing started fn Plymouth Sound for the 29er and 49er fleets. The gradient wind from the East built to a healthy 20 knots which caught many of the competitors out.
The 49ers sailing in the west got the programmed 3 races in while the 29ers only managed 1 due to technical difficulties.
On the 49er course Ben McGrane & Jon Clegg have the lead overnight with a 2,2, 5. Stevie Morrison & Ben Rhodes were first across the line in all three races but an OCS in the first race means they are down in 7th place. The 49er fleet is fortunate to have 3 USA teams on their Euro tour and also Sydney Olympic Gold medallists Thomas Johanson & Jukka Piirainen.
29er worlds Champions David Evans & Rick Peacock took line honours in the single race followed unusually by the light wind flyers Tristen Jaques & Alan Sign.
