With 15-18 knots of wind day two provided for some spectacular sailing, several boats had breakages and most boats had at least one capsize.
The Danish teams continue to lead the pointscore, first is Allan Norregard and Klaus Naur who lead from fellow countrymen Michael Hestbaek and Dennis Andersen, both teams had breakages today, Hestbaek and Andersen had continued problems with their spinnaker pole retrieval line due to a block with some sharp edges causing the rope to break. Norregard and Naur had trapeze wire problems in the same race and were forced to retire, some quick on the water repairs between races and they were both back to their best for the third and fourth races.
There was a lot of excitement on the last lap of the third race when waves from a passing navy ship began breaking on the reef located in the middle of the downwind leg, most boats negotiated the waves without serious damage or injury, the young Canadian team were caught by the waves and capsized with the crew Hunter Lowden hurting his ribs, after a rest he was able to carry on and complete the 4th race of the day.
There is one more day of qualification before the finals begin, the fleet position from qualification will be carried as the result of one race in the finals series.
