Skandia, is delighted to announce a further title sponsorship, their second during Skandia Cowes Week 2003.
Skandia Cowes Youth Week will start on Tuesday 12 August, based out of the Island Sailing Club. The youth event will see 18 teams from countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Australia and New Zealand competing in fast and furious match racing in the club's Sonars.
The crews aged from 16-24, will face a challenging series of round robin matches, and the final pair will battle it out for the overall prize on Saturday 16th.
Tim Sewell, Skandia's sponsorship manager is pleased with this addition to the Set Sail portfolio: "We are working hard to build on the global sailing sponsorship programme that we launched in March. SCYW is a great international event that deserves sponsorship support, and our involvement demonstrates the importance Skandia places on investing in future sailing talent. Over the next four years we will be working with the event organisers to grow the event so that we see even more young international sailors in Cowes."
With a few days to go before the event kicks off, many of the young crews are taking advantage of an opportunity to get used to the current light airs, and to get to grips with the fickle nature of the Sonar boats,
