All 122 IMS Racing and IMS Cruiser/Racer yachts that have now been accepted for entry in the 2004 Newport Bermuda Race may now sign up for the seven-race Onion Patch Series as an individual entry in the three-event series and also enter as a three-boat Onion Patch teams.

Entry is 'on-line' at the New York Yacht Club website. Go to 'Yachting' and then select '150th Annual Regatta' Page. This link will lead you to all the entry forms that you will need. Remember that this is all done on line and once you successfully log on, your personal and Yacht data will be retained for subsequent entries. All Newport Bermuda IMS CR and R Division entries are eligible for the series that consists of all races of the NYYC Annual Regatta, the Bermuda Race and the RBYC Anniversary Regatta.

The best scoring individual yacht participating in the series wins the Henry B. du Pont Trophy and will be named the IMS North American Champion for 2004. The first yacht on corrected time, in the Bermuda Race, that is a competitor in the Onion Patch Series will be awarded the Catherine Hollis Memorial Trophy. Three-boat teams compete for the Onion Patch Trophy.

The Onion Patch Series offers excellent competition in a variety of conditions, from racing in the Rhode Island Sound or Narragansett Bay to the ocean Gulf Stream crossing to Bermuda’s Great Sound and adjacent waters. Cruiser/Racer and Racing type yachts will find an opportunity to excel in their boat's conditions.

Newport Bermuda Race is organised by the CCA and RBYC with the start off Newport organised by the New York Yacht Club. The NYYC Annual Regatta is presented by Rolex and Bermuda Tourism is the Official Host for the Newport Bermuda Race.
