First medals decided
Our congratulations to Ainslie, Ayton, Webb and Wilson
Ben Ainslie speaks to thedailysail about his latest achievement. Today Australia took Gold in both 470 classes, but impressively Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield came home third to secure silver for Team GBR! See today's report. A complete turn around in conditions in Qingdao yesterday with driving rain and 20 knot winds... As expected Ben and the Brit Yngling girls took gold, but in an extraordinary turn of events, the Danish 49er leaders broke their mast pre-start, went ashore, borrowed a boat, missed the start but thanks to the carnage ahead of them, still managed to clinch gold! Read the report here and see the photos. See Saturday's report and photos. Alistair Skinner reports from the Qingdao breakwater. For all sailing news about the Games, see our Olympic homepage. Ramsgate Week concluded yesterday. Team Russia were yesterday still trying to make the Shetland Islands on their Volvo Ocean Race qualified.
